PBX

BudgeTalk Start: shared cloud PBX from 1,000 HUF. BudgeTalk Pro: your own dedicated server, full flexibility.

IP PBX and cloud PBX — as your VoIP provider

BudgeTalk is a Hungarian VoIP provider that delivers IP telephony and a cloud PBX on its own infrastructure with number ranges registered with the NMHH (SK code: 633). The traditional on-premise switchboard is replaced by a web-managed, internet-based PBX — no capital expenditure, no expensive maintenance, and far better per-minute rates.

Why switch to a VoIP PBX?

IP telephony carries calls over the internet, so on-network calls are free and landline/mobile calls are significantly cheaper. The key advantages:

  • Keep your existing number through portability
  • Constantly intelligible, noise-free voice, no echo
  • Free on-network calling
  • Very competitive per-minute rates — landline 4.5 HUF/min, mobile 20 HUF/min
  • No more being tied to a location: reachable from anywhere in the world
  • Features other providers charge extra for: call forwarding, caller ID, automatic redial, conferencing

Two options: BudgeTalk Start and BudgeTalk Pro

Quick start: for simple needs we set you up in 1–3 days; if number porting is also needed, typically 3 days due to the porting process. For cases requiring consultation, we schedule a call within 3 days. There is no trial period — with the low monthly fee and no fixed term, there is no need for one.

BudgeTalk Start — shared cloud PBX

BudgeTalk Start is a shared, cloud-based PBX: multiple tenants share the common infrastructure, which keeps the price low. Banded monthly pricing based on the number of active extensions — 1–5 extensions 1,000 HUF, 6–10 extensions 2,000 HUF, 11–20 extensions 4,000 HUF, 21–40 extensions 8,000 HUF.

Predictable monthly fee + prepaid settlement. The PBX monthly fee is extension-based (fixed, plannable), while call charges (per-minute) and number fees are deducted from a prepaid balance. So the subscription stays constant and call costs remain transparent, matching your usage.

BudgeTalk Pro — dedicated PBX on your own server

BudgeTalk Pro is a dedicated solution: your own server sized to the planned load, with multiple trunks and transcoding capacity. There are no shared-tenant limits; every feature is available. We help with sizing through consultation, because most customers cannot assess the required capacity on their own.

Included in both

  • Call routing, call forwarding, caller ID
  • Hunt groups, IVR voice menu
  • Voicemail, call list, call recording (0 HUF)
  • Online administration interface
  • Hungarian-language customer support

Not familiar with PBX systems? We help.

Most customers do not want to plan IVR menus or call routing — they just want it to work. We do it for you: we assess the needs, put together the greeting, the menu items and the call routing, and set the system up. You just use it. No technical knowledge needed — the expertise is our job.

What devices can connect?

The VoIP phone service works with any SIP-compatible device:

  • Software VoIP phone (softphone) — a program installed on your computer that uses the machine's microphone and speakers (or a connected headset) for calls. Configure it with the details received at sign-up; it logs in to the system once switched on.
  • USB VoIP phone — connects to the computer's USB port; together with the SIP/VoIP software it behaves like a traditional handset, preserving the familiar feel for everyday use.
  • Hardware SIP phone — a traditional-looking phone but with a direct network connection; no separate phone line needed, and the built-in hub shares the network connection with the computer.
  • Analogue telephone adapter (ATA) — you can also connect your existing analogue device: the ATA accepts the network cable and presents the old phone to the system as a SIP device.
  • Fax (T.38) — Fax over IP runs on the T.38 protocol; modern multifunction devices usually support it, older models can be connected via an ATA.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a fixed-term contract?

No. The service can be cancelled at any time.

Can I keep my existing phone number?

Yes. Through number portability, typically within 1–1.5 weeks, we transfer your number.

What devices can I use it with?

Any SIP-compatible IP phone, softphone, or mobile phone (Mobile VoIP, 4G/5G).

Are the prices net or gross?

The listed prices are net prices and do not include VAT.

How can I request a quote?

On the Contact page, by phone or by email. For BudgeTalk Pro (dedicated) we size the system after a consultation.

Can I migrate from my existing ISDN or analogue system?

Yes. We handle ISDN replacement with a SIP trunk, and connect analogue devices with an ATA adapter — in most cases you can keep your existing numbers and some of the equipment.

What internet connection do I need?

A stable broadband internet connection is recommended for reliable call quality (at least 32 Kbit/s per voice channel). With today's gigabit connections this is available almost everywhere.

Is VoIP better than a traditional landline?

With a suitable internet connection, yes: cheaper, more flexible, expandable, and on-network calls are free. Business VoIP integrates especially well with other systems.

Does it work if I handle many concurrent calls?

Yes. The SIP trunk provides any number of concurrent channels, and BudgeTalk Pro means a dedicated server sized to the load.

What should I do if the internet goes down?

Mobile VoIP (4G/5G) has proven to work as a backup line: even a 30-seat call center can switch over to it when the internet line fails.

Is there a sign-up or setup fee?

There is no separate sign-up fee. The PBX monthly fee is extension-based, and call and number fees are deducted from a prepaid balance.

How does billing work?

Prepaid settlement: you pay the fixed PBX monthly fee, and call charges and number fees are deducted from your topped-up balance. This keeps the monthly fee predictable and usage transparent.

Can I use my existing analogue devices?

Yes. With an analogue telephone adapter (ATA) you can connect your existing analogue devices to the system — no need to spend on new devices.

What happens to my number during porting?

During porting the service may be suspended for a short window (up to 4 hours), typically on a working day between 20:00 and 24:00. Apart from that, calls run uninterrupted.

Do you help set up the system?

Yes. No technical knowledge needed: we assess the needs, put together the IVR menu and call routing, and set up the system — you just use it.
